Hi everyone, was wondering if you could tell me what market value is for a 88 F 911 3.2 Supersport coupe in a good colour combo with 150,000 miles on the clock. I have one on offer at 15k is that good value considering it's been owned for the last good few years by a repected professional, and has a solid engine and great service history with the local specialist.

Is 15k a steal or is it too dear? whats it worth in A1 inside and out condition?

Thanks in advance guys.

I'd say £15k for 150,000 mile car sounds on the high side as regular 3.2's would be between £11-13k depending on condition.

Your car is a Supersport so that should add a little value (depends on the buyer), it depends on the condition of the car and what work you'd had carried out it. If you've had a top end rebuild, clutch, gearbox etc all documneted by a specialist and it's in good condition it may be worth £15k.

Prices on good original 3.2's are firming up.

I have just paid £12k for a 88 with 130000 miles, full svc history and all old MOTs, major svc and clutch in jan

You look in the dealers columns and will find a good one with 50000 on the clock for £21000 +.

I recently sold my 3.2 Supersport for £15,750.

It was an '86 D plate with 125k on the clock and an excellent service history and many major renewals.

I think it sounds a fair price.

The Supersport is a great drive with that better center of gravity and brakes.

Hi,
Anyone with 15k to spend on a Porsche has a big choice of Boxsters on the market at the moment, there`s a thread on here currently about someone spotting a Boxster for £9995, probably ropey, but a sign of how the used market is going.
Also someone coming from a BMW will be horrified by how primative a 3.2 feels in comparison with a Boxster , so you`re looking for someone who`s a hardcore fan rather than a punter who fancies a Porsche for a change, so you need to advertise somewhere specialist.
I`m looking for a 964 and I`ve seen a few where the owners are wearing rose-tinted specs regarding the condition of the vehicle...I didn`t make an offer on them
regards.

Question - Does anybody know how much a '88 Supersport was when it came outa the show room, and what that value would convert to at 2006 prices?

I would say that £15k was a fair price for one with 100-120k on the clock. What you have to factor in is that 100k is one thing, but 150k is getting on for seriously high mileage, and at what point do they become unsaleable to all but the most hardened/knowledgeable enthusiast.

However, if it has had an engine rebuild and you plan on it being a keeper, then what's one or two grand in the long run if you love the car :)

Interesting thread....I am having the dilema about whether to upgrade from my 3.2 to a 993 at the moment, but the (anticipated) value of my car is putting me off.

I have a '87 Targa with 161k on the clock, but had full suspension rebuild, new clutch and top-end (with new barrels & pistons) at 145k. The body work is what I would describe as good, not excellent (a few stone chips on the bonnet & 2 small rust bubbles on the bumpers.) I am expecting it only to be worth about £9k.

So with all the work I have had done, I am wondering if a 993 is worth the extra £15-20k I would have to spend, especially with the added risk of not knowing the car (I have owned my car for nearly 4 years.) I could just spend a bit more on mine and spruce it up.

OK, car is bought, but need s fair bit of work tyo it inside and out after a good inspection, so the value is alot less that what said above, here's a pic.

Hi Richard

A 1988 Supersport cost around £40,000 when it was new, compared to a 3.2 carrea coupe which was £37,150 at the end of its run in 1989. [:(]

Thanks for that. So my 1st June 1989 Cabriolet, probably circa £40,000.00 then? And how much is it worth now I wonder. £29,995,00 would be good! [:D]
