Got a set of 4 fronts all with as new 225- S02s on, so ideal to run same size all round, wheels/tyres, have had a cheap spray look ok but need a refurb really, any idea on price? & am I better ebaying & aiming at the VW crowd than aiming for the porker comunity I wonder?

Cheers.

Hard to value as they are so unusual. I wouldn't have thought they would fetch a great deal here

I think you're much better aiming at VW owners, as a set of 4 fronts will be pretty rare, and a staggered setup doesn't make any sense on FWD. Great for 924S (so why sell them?) but limited appeal for most 944's IMO. For track work a set of 8" D90's would probably be better/cheaper, or for a high powered turbo a set of 9" Clubsports or D90's.

Why sell, well fair question & wouldnt unless got good $, but don't really need road tyres as its a track car & to run the 15 inchers saves 12kg which is hard to loose elsewhere & off the wheels is pretty much best place to loose weight from.

I had considered going 17 inch simply as the slicks for them- used jobbies ex wtcc & btcc are utter peanuts, but more weight & I'd think car would feel a tad over tyred with them on & the grip would no doubt rip the car to shreds as we found out with the Golfs yrs ago massive ball joint, top mounts & other componants vastly accelerated wear.

Car may yet live at 'ring next yr anyway so slicks not an option, so not too fussed about the 17 route & ive lots of 15 & 16 inch track rubber in my batcave [:)]

Very good point about weight - unsprung as well...

I ran my 924S's on track with 15's - 205/50/15 and 195/50/15 (basically whatever tyres I had lying around). The car steers much more nicely on 15's, and sits a bit lower. You also get a slight reduction in gearing with the smaller wheels which is useful.
