Value of Carrera

Hi Just got value for my Carrera ( at last ) from Motor sport GB Porsche.

Its almost half of what all has been said in one of the last discussionds in the furum ???

My car is in very good condition with many new parts ....you would struggle to find a fault except not being a G50 gearbox

£19000 ?? seems a bit low does it not ??[]

Pepe Not sure if the guy that is doing the values at the moment is up to date with the way the values of air cooled cars have gone in the last year or so!
Please look at other posts for names of other respected valuers

Pepe,
I feel your pain.
My last valuation from PCGB in Autumn2013 was £17k and took over two months with chasing up.
After conversations with Charles and Paul a couple months ago, I decided to enlist the services of John Glynn. This is already one month overdue and chasing up...ugh. He estimates £29k which he indicates is mid-market for LHD
Big difference and don't think it would all be due to market appreciation in the past 9 months.
I would expect differences depending on view of the valuation (ie, private sale, dealer) but not +50%.
Perhaps this is a potential business opportunity for one of you guys.....
Cheers,
Melinda

Interesting topic. It's true that rising prices of earlier cars plus favourable 3.2 chat in the magazines have pushed asking prices up. But that doesn't mean buyers are paying such prices.
My 1984 Sport is for sale and very nice, having been with me since 1986, lowish miles at 100k and always kept up to scratch. I have been led to expect £30,000 and a well-known independent dealer has offered me £25,000. My feeling is I need to take that or fact a wait for a couple of years while buyers catch up with sellers. No G50 is NOT a fault. It is a specification. If you have been careful with the 1-2 change and know how to use the throttle, the earlier gearbox is fine, perfectly quick and positive.

Really it does not matter what its worth if you are keeping it.

It only matters IF it gets stolen or damaged.......and IF you are selling it

You've made a statement then immediately contradicted yourself! It's like saying 'you only need insurance if your car get's stolen or damaged'.

The fact is, it matters.
