Value of this 911 SC?

In the current climate that sort of money should by you a pristine, garage queen, with history. Move on and find the same thing for less, they are out there if people are selling. £10,000 plus should get you a tidy car that has had all the really necessary work done properly.

That might add a few bob then! should have spotted it that! [:(] It's even written in bold at the top of the page - it's been a long day!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi

The car featured isnt a SC, its a 3 litre carrera

Doah! LOng day here as well! Thats a better deal ... althoiugh I still think the engine looks shabby and the air con is still dodgy!!

Hey Ho

Dont get me wrong, I think its too expensive, and looks alittle tired in all areas. From personnal experience get the best you can afford, but if it was my money I'd keep looking.

Bwo, not sure about that great advice. I have driven both types (911SC 180, 204 bhp) and the carrera 3. You buy a C3 exactly because of being a C3 and not one of 15000 SC's. An SC is a bit heavier, torquier, better sound insulated and the 3.2 is even better. Moreover, a g50 3.2 is probably an easier to drive car and a bit more "robust"- but man, when a c3 comes on cam at 4200 rpm and the engine is nicely loosened up and driven often, a car like a turbo 3.3 has difficulty keeping up, let alone much newer machinery. This is the last of the "early character" porsches that you have to keep on the boil between 4000 and 6200 rpm when not cruising.

Here is the in-gear acceleration of several 911 types. Apologies, it is in French but hey ho.

Original acceleration in km/h of the first German test of the C3,

and the famous in-gear acceleration with that 7:31 magnesium gearbox of the C3 (the values of the Carrera 2.7 is in brackets.)

Have a look at the early carrera section on www.impactbumpers.com as well as the dedicated Carrera 3 information site on www.911carrera3.co.uk

All my cars come and go, but my carrera 3 stays. That is a just a gem of a little hemi engine that even on k-jet drives the socks of a carrera 2.7.

All that said, I still think its alot of money to spend out on a car if youre looking for somthing else, ie, SC not a 3 Carrera. And to be truly honest now that i have sorted out a number of things on mine, I love it, however i wouldnt recommend falling in love with a car before you buy on the fact that its a raw driving experience. Better to look around and investigte whats out there. If youre local to staffordshire you are more that welcome to come and have a look see over mine.
