Value/Price of 930's

Back in 2005 (pre kids), I owned this 1986 930 - B17 BHP.

I bought it from an independent Porsche dealer in Chertsey (cant remember the name), for £22,000.

The kids are older now and I was looking at getting another 930 but the costs have sky-rocketed. I know I've been out of the loop for 10 years, but are 930's really £70K+ and 3.2's £30k?

Surely £35K+ would be more accurate.

Thoughts please as these are now well out of my price range (hindsight hey!!).

Value now start around £55k upwards private. These will all need money, spent as work will be needed each year. As for your own value £35k five years ago.In pre 07 under 20k or just over. Luckily bought mine, then no one wanted a 930.It's a very small market, for a buyer and a seller.I came near to selling mine a few months ago what with working away more lack of use. Got a very good offer, unseen from a dealer. He would have added on a easy 20k.
As you have found out,now people are being priced out the market. A fire damage one, sold two years ago for nearly 40k.
I saw a cab for sale, with dealer at a show last weekend. Priced £109k 61k miles and all the big bills,to follow within five years of ownership. This in turn makes it a £150k very fast.

It seems that values are now pricing enthusiasts out of the market. A 3.2 looking as good as your 930 picture could easily be £50k, a £35k car would need work. The 3.2 prices may have stabilised over the last year, however, everyone I've spoken to recently, with a good 3.2, seem to have valuations around £45k.

Hi Muzzer

Just had a free valuation from Porsche Club on mine for agreed value insurance £120,000.00
1989 LE 1 x previous owner 56,000 miles

996 mass produced (someone I hope will say more many) someone stated to me only 930, 930's sold in UK between 1978 and 1989 so 11 years only 84.5/year on average

So quite rare really
