Values

There are lots of threads about various forums as to 993 and 964 RS values. Clearly at the minute values seem to be rising, and mainly as a result of the £ crash.

What values are people putting down for insurance purposes? I did put £65k for a 993RS 50,000 miles and good nick, but I am thinking if it was the subject of a total loss i'd need £80+ today to go to a dealer and buy one?

What thoughts do you have? I ask as I don't want to be underinsured!

Kind regards

In theory thats great Mick , wud nt try arguing it with the insurer on a bad day ............Agreed value with Aon not much prob if car over 10 years old , just get the forms and u ll find a valuer fairly easy ............dont risk it !Thers a good guy around had a problem in last 12 months ish, they tried to write his off .........a well known staright car .....hell of a tussle .......beware

Vic is right Mick.

If I hadn't had an agreed value I wouldn't be sitting here with prob the RS with most new parts there is - 30k's worth. They'd have written it off and it would have been on the scrap heap by now....get it covered mate.

(then again I remember you had no track cover when you had your magic roundabout at spa![][][][][][][])

you're prob right, if I was to keep the car I'd def get an agreed value cover knowing the current value!

If and when I sell it, I'll prob just get a track bitch and not worry about the value very much.

Would be interesting to see if the value will drop back down when the Euro falls again.

Agreed values are fine as long as you remember to get the agreed value constantly updated. It's no good having an agreed value of 45K on your 993RS cos you forgot to update its value. In the event of a crash, that could be critical. Market value is generally OK. If you supply 3 current adverts showing a nice high value you should be OK. Agreed value is safer than that, but you need to make sure it is constantly up to date.
