Hi all,
I am making progress putting my engine back together and will have the timing chains in place at the week-end, ready to start the dreaded valve timing. I have read all the books so know the procedure but the Haynes manual does not give the value for the 'No 1 Inlet Valve Lift' for cars after 1981. My car was registered in Jan 83. Has anybody got data for more recent cars?
As an aside I got a good tip to-day for fitting the spark plugs, it is an obvious one but I had forgotten. I was in a shop to buy a 'magnetic plug socket' but they didn't have one. Another customer suggested screwing the plugs into place using a length of rubber vacuum hose fitted over the insulator.
Paul.
