Vandalism

Hi

I recently bought a boxster s (3 weeks ago to be exact) It's a 2003 so not hugely expensive and in those 3 weeks it's been damaged twice![]

Firstly, went to Wellesbourne market, parked in the field, got back and someone had reversed up to it did a massive wheel spin and covered it front to back in huge lumps of mud which have now stained the rear bumper.

Secondly, got back to it today in the works car park and someone has put a deep scratch in the top of the front wing![]

I love my car very much but is this the shape of things to come?. Do these things happen on a regular basis or am I just unlucky?

Cheers

Gutted for you [:(]

Makes you wonder how somebody "accidently" scrathed the "top" of a wing []

Parking at Tesco, supermarket or equivalent car parks (cinema, restaurants, etc) are well known for getting those mysterious dents on the curve of the door or near the rear wheel arch as people open their doors on them [:(]

I have to say sounds like you have been very unlucky as I have owned 3 Boxster's in the last 6 years all from new Currently a 09 Gen II 2.9PDK Had no such problems in Surrey where I live or for that matter all over the UK and France. I am a little careful where I park but not obsessive.

Hi Whinbush,

Thanks for your reply, you have restored my faith a little. I actually live 15 minutes from silverstone circuit.

Going to sift through 4 hours of cctv footage of my works car park monday in the hope of finding something.

Hope that the CCTV helps - then you can either confront the person responsible or, if there is a major problem, hand the matter over to the police ...

I had a similar expereince in Snettisham when some windsurfers seemed to take a dislike to my previous car and left a long scratch along the side.

I wonder what they would say if I ripped apart their sails?

Never a truer statement than that...!!!

My 02 Boxster got mysterious dents in those exact two places on 2 seperate visits to ASDA.
I'd only had it for less than a month at the time and my self thought the worst...Was this what i was to expect from now on..!!!

Any way a year later nothing else has happened..Touch wood....!!!
Mind you i have got the Porsche bug now...So bought my self a 944 for messing round in and must say for a 26 year old car i almost enjoy it as much as my Boxster and do find people look at that more in the street than my Boxster.

Young people look at it and think WOW whats that..???
People of my age look at it and think WOW i've not seen one of those for.....Well 26 years..!!!!

Hi

I am very paranoid when it comes to supermarket car parks and often park as remote to avoid the chance of someone parking alongside. However no matter how remote a position I park it, it always ends up with somone parked tightly up to it ! Funny that - maybe people just attracted to Boxster. Seriously I am considering another "cheap" Porsche for parking at the station, shopping etc. Any recommendations ?

Apparently the subliminal logic behind parking next to expensive cars is anyone planning to steal, vandalise, etc with go for the more expensive car and they are guaranteed not to have a Porsche owner open the door on their car [:(]

This is a sad re-run of what happens daily , i hope you catch the jealous ^&(*%IO&T and they get the bill for the repairs
