VDO Guage Repair

Timmy

New member
Morning

My Oil Temp/Pressure/Checklight guage surface has cracked, I assume with the heat of the bulbs, over the checklights. A common problem?

Hardly keeping me off the road but has anyone a contact for repairing these or is it more cash for my OPC?

I had the same problem on mine.

I got REAP automotive developments to refurb them (they advertise Porsche Post and 911PW) - he even came out to my car and did them while I waited. Top job. Cost was about 300 for 3 faces and I went for the 12'o'clock redline option for the rev counter at the same time.

Cheers

(LOL, I am on these forums now so Melv the Merkin Merchant is no longer safe!)

That seems like a lot of money 'Speedy Cables' repaired and cleaned a VDO clock for me for £45.00 inc. So what do you know about Melv that we should be aware of?.......lol

Julian Reap prints off a brand new dial face to your specification. It's a replacement not refurb. He did some of the OEM 993 RHD dials, IIRC, so it is effectively factory fit. You can have them colour coded if you want or in silver, but mine are standard.

Melv is known as the Merkin Merchant to some who know him. It's how he subsidises running his cup car - those buckets he's got in it don't come cheap. Oh, hand on a minute, THEY DO! [:D]

Domster! Where the feck have you been? Oh, I remember, collecting yak hair......[;)]

Hey, and just remember boyo, I'm the Moderator around here.[:D]

Well, it's never too late to join the party and the Red Baron should be back on the road soonish (I hope!).[]
