Vector drawings of 944 S2

I have asked a friend of mine (who is a automotive model maker by profession) to design the livery on my S2.

I'm pre-empting his request for vector drawings similar to this:

Obviously the above is next to useless as it's far too small for any meaningful photoshop work...does anyone know if high resolution vector drawings exist for the S2 (or Turbo, as they are pretty much identical on the outside)? Google hasn't been too helpful...having only thrown up the above in about an hour's worth of hunting...

As my S2 is white, he should in theory have all the design freedom in the world to come up with some awesome designs! The only request I have made is "use plenty of orange - I like that colour". [:)] I'll post them up here for everyone's comments once that's done.

Hi there, I don't have any digital files but I have a press pack for a 944 Turbo from February '85 from, the pack includes an A4 line drawing of the nearside and top views.

If it's any use to you I could copy it and post it, or since you're an EMC fan I could leave it there for you to pick up (I'll be there midweek).

That would be really useful!

I'm a huge EMC "fan" - if by fan, you mean I might soon ask my HR department to pay my monthly salary into Kevin's bank account, skip out the middle-man! [:D] However, I live 130 miles from Saltley so I'm never there that often. Would you mind sticking it in the post to me, in one of those cardboard A4 envelopes?

I'll drop you an email with my address etc.

I drew up rough vector outlines myself when I was doing vinyls for my 944 Turbo.

I came across the same problem as you though and ended up basing them on the Lux front end because that's all I could find reference for. Didn't matter in my case because my design wasn't encroaching on any of the areas that differ between the two cars.

I'm happy to share what I drew up if it's any use to you, just be aware that it's basically a nice clean vector version of what you already have posted above. Should be close enough for your guy to work on top of, so long as he remembers that the front bumper area is incorrect!

Yes please Tony, it'd be interesting to have that too!

I think my bumpers would be painted one colour (most likely orange) anyway...so that shouldn't be a problem...

Drop me an email on tony@typescape.com and I'll attach the file to my reply. I've had problems using the email feature on this forum, so don't trust it any more "¦
