Vehicle Registrations ??

I seen this Porsche Panamera today with a Registration starting PS then numbers , not sure the exact Reg but something similar to PS 28902 for example.

My question is ? Are these PS Registration from official government cars ?? I have seen a few knocking about ?? Just curious .
 
Thanks Simon I believe that you are spot on there . They just look odd and sort of Formal , so I thought they belonged to spooks ??

Some diplomats roll in style !!!
 
Diplomatic staff have D plates and non-diplomatic embassy staff have X, I think. A long time ago my grandfather bought a Citroen DS off a French diplomat and the car carried the 152 D xxx plate for several weeks until it was registered correctly.
 
I think the UK must have the largest variety of number plate formats there is. With the different letters and numbers I have found twenty different combinations.
