Apparently the colour of my car is quite rare and i also have colour coded wheels, mirrors, door handles and spoiler in a dark grey / gunmetal colour that came in a special package when the car was new. The car also has a lower suspension package that was put on the car when it was made by porsche. After speaking to a few people i have been lead to belive that this is quite rare and i was wondering if you could help with any information? The car is a C2S tiptronic S.

Thanks,

Cliff

Hi Cliff

Nice to see another 993 owner with the best colour going!!!! [:D][:D][:D]

If the first keeper of your car was Road Range at Mann Island in Liverpool, then I've got the sister car to yours. They registered two within months of each other and had them both at the same time, for a few months. One is a manual, which is mine, the other a tippie, which could be yours.

The cars are basically standard C2S, as Maurice says. They were, as far as I can tell, a special done only by Porsche GB. 17" Cup alloys, gunmetal door handles, rear spoiler inset and mirrors and gunmetal painted alloys. Interior wise, they had the hard back sports seats and I am presuming any options that the customer specified. I don't think they were a special for any celebratory purpose though.

The colour is actually classed as grey!!!!! For reference, if you ever need any bodywork doing, tell whoever is doing it not to worry about the colour of the paint. When it is mixed, it looks a totally different colour. It takes the final colour when it's dry. I had a very puzzled bodywork bloke due to this. He checked and re-checked the paint several times before application, convinced that it was wrong!!!

I have been told there were about twenty cars done in this colour scheme, although I wouldn't wish to be held to that because I've never seen it on paper.

Regards

Hi Cliff

I have the very same model, but mine has had the mirrors and tailgate changed to vesuvious. I was told that the car came as a "package" and was advertised as a special edition but is not officially classed as a special edition, although IMO it's one of the best looking 911's out there.

Thanks for you replies,

I have had the car for about two years now, but i dont use the forum as im quite computer illiterate. Infact it was my son (andymarsden1) who set this account up for me. Does anyone know how many came into the uk? I love the car and the colour!

Cheers,

Cliff
