Very nice cab for sale on eBay

A car summary could not come any clearer, too.

I wish I had the use of a RHD cab. [8D]

ORIGINAL: 944Turbo

you will miss it when the sun comes out again.
Tony

Probably, although it didn't last year...

My wife says she is going to buy an MR2 Roadster next year - not the same but it should give me my fix of open top. If it doesn't and I miss it too badly I'll just have to buy a 951 Cab [8D]

I was even the winning bidder for a bit - I am off to check down the back of the sofa see if there is any spare cash hiding there [:D]

I saw you took it into 4-figures. Obviously I have a figure in mind and we're still some way off, but it's going well for 4 hours in.

A student (girl) is working with us at the moment. Something was mentioned in conversation about my car. She said 'Oh! I thought is was one of those old Ford Capri things'[:(]

Anyway, roll up roll up! Only two days to go!

Dear Fen
Apologies as I seem to have referenced your convertible in my first ever post - I'm a complete novice and although you went into great detail I was initially put off by the 188,000 miles - should I have been (German engineering quakity and all that).

No problem - it puts people off "on paper", quite understandably.

If it helps, it was viewed today by a motor trader from Salisbury who was looking with a view to driving it himself every day. I think he was impressed both with the S2 Cab in general and my 188,400 miler. He agreed that if I had presented it to him as a 90,000 mile car he wouldn't have batted an eyelid.

Anyway, high miles isn't everyone's thing - horses for courses. I deliberately looked for an honest but high-mileage one when I was buying because I know they run on for ever (there was a Turbo with 360,000 on it in 911 & Porsche World a few years ago) and I intended to use it a lot.

It's no secret (because it's adverised on Pistonheads) that I'm looking for £6k for the car. A decent cab with maybe 40,000 less miles is £7,500 or thereabouts (as you say in your other post). Mine needs probably £300 of paint - say £500 to be safe, so it's a full £1,000 less than most to compensate for the extra miles but would have all its stone chips addressed in the bargain.

I have reserved the right to end the eBay auction at any time and I will not be selling it for the figure it's currently at. I'm not that fussed if I sell it or not. I might just get the paint fixed and take it over the 200k mark then have another pop at selling it when the weather improves.

Edited for my usual fat-fingeredness

Amusa, don't be put off by the high miles. I am biased of course but Fens description is very honest, and he has already addressed the issues that lower mileage cars will eventually run into.

If I didn't love my own cars so much I'd have bought it from him months ago. I've been watching the auction closely and it is incredibly difficult to keep the finger off the bid button. My wife really wants a Cab but I just couldn't cope with three 944's []

I think there will be a late flurry taking it to a good price as the auction ends [;)] but I really hope not so that Fen keeps it and I can be tempted again in the spring [:)]

I've relisted the cab on eBay again for a last try http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4522544136

If it doesn't make the reserve this time it's booked for paint on 7th February and then it can go in PP, 911&PW etc. for a bunch more money in time for the sun to come out.

SOLD! to the nice gentleman from Manchester who saw it advertised elsewhere

Well done Fen.

You'll be changing your signature/foot note now then?

Isn't it about time you got that Turbot back on the road?

Cheers John!

Sig changed [;)]

I should get the money next Sunday, pending an MoT pass on Friday that my fettler assures me will be no problem (not that I was worried) and roughtly 50% of it will be spent on TurboT'ing [:D]

I do need to find a daily driver though. 306 GTI-6 is very much in the frame for that.

Congrats Fen! [:)]

So..... fast estate en route au chez Coull? (apologies to all French speakers).
