Vibrating noise behind my right ear

Does anyone get an annoying vibrating buzz from somewhere near the point where the driver's seatbelt disappears into the rear compartment side panel? I have eliminated the Bose speaker and cover panel (I've removed them and the noise is still there) and the noise comes and goes whilst driving, depending on nothing in particular. It's a 2S coupe and the noise has only recently started. The next stage step will be to remove the trim panel and look behind it, so any help here would be appreciate.

Yes, it can be the rear passenger window, a common issue according to my local OPC. They've replaced the seal on mine and made it worse, so be careful ! Yes, when I get the time I will send it back...

Yes I do - I have a C2S also... It seemed to be the rear speaker grill as I asked my other half to sit in the back and locate the source - when she held her hand on the speaker cover the vibration stopped.

My OPC also confirmed that it was the speaker grill/panel and "adjusted it". The problem went away for a few weeks but its back and its very annoying!!!

I've elimated the speaker and the grill (by temporarily removing them) although holding a hand on them stopped the noise as you say. I assume that applying this pressure damps out the vibration in or around the panel. I'm going to pursue Rob's line of thought with the Centre and I'll report back.

Hope you find it - Im frustrated with the dealer for not fixing it first time too.

If it helps I also have BOSE and the sound is deffo related to the engine revs not speed or any audio content (indeed its quite quiet so any level of music drowns it out anyway). The sound comes and goes with revs but seems to be most prominent at a couple of thousand rpm (estimate Ive not checked to get an exact critical point).

Robert - do you have BOSE too?

Adam yes I do have the Bose. You can turn-off the noise-matching volume settings, in the SOUND menu on PCM I think it's Audiopilot ? Untick this, and you have far more control on the volume (as it stops matching revs/abient noise), though I found the volume knob became so low-geared I ended-up selecting it on again.

No, no, sorry I meant that the annoying vibration is matched to the engine revs not the sound as in audio...

Robert, I carried out some more trials this evening (speaker and grill removed) and I'm more or less convinced the noise comes from lower-right of the plastic capping through which the seat belt passes. I don't think this capping is the problem (because putting pressure on it makes no difference) but I need the panel removed to see what's behind it in this area. My Centre is 45 minutes away so I'll do what I can at home if I'm sure I won't break anything! In your case are you convinced the problem is connected with the window seal? As your problem has returned could it come from the same area as mine?

PS, off-topic I know, but do you have a date yet for the Princess Boats visit? I'll start a new topic if you like!

My diagnosis was wrong! Nothing to do with the panel or speaker but actually the rear seat fold-down catch mechanism. I like to leave these down to give me two levels of storage behind the front seats, and it was the catch/lever rattling sound bouncing off the side-panel area that I was suspicious of. All fixed by my OPC and now silent.

Big thanks guys, i now have an annoying rattle in my right ear. it either wasnt there before or I wasnt listening for it.

Always pleased to be of service! As it's Saturday no doubt you've spent all day trying different fixes all to no avail. That's what I did, which makes it all the more annoying when the rattle turns out to be something so simple. Good luck with yours. Do you leave your seat backs down?

Could also be the trim panel below the rear window.

I had this problem on mine and it sounds like it's just behind you, but it was actually right at the back of the car
