Vibration from 924 at 3,000 rpm

Hi there, I've recently purchased a nice tidy 924 as a runaround as I was using my 911's too much.

I'm really impressed with it.

It has one problem.

At 3,000 rpm there is a mad vibrationthrough the car - this happens when in gear and driving (decelerating or accelerating) but also out of gear and reving to 3K.

Any ideas?

I am thinking engine mount possibly?

Many thanks

Is it coming from the gearbox tunnel area just below the gearstick?
A badly mounted exhaust can knock against the underside.

Yes, that would be the best way to describe the source of it - I'll get it checked out - thanks

I would also suspect one of the engine mounts. I had the same on my 924 a few years ago. Can't remember the exact engine revs where the vibration occured but it happened in all gears at the same engine revs. I replaced the engine mount (on the ehaust side if I remember correctly) and it was fine.
