Vibration through Steering on Full Lock

On my C4, I have noticed a slight vibration through the steering wheel when on full lock moving forwards (either side).

To my knowledge it wasn't there before, but i don't go on full lock often either. There are no obvious signs of rubbing on the tyres/wheel arches.

Could it be something to do with front driveshafts? Is this a common C4 experience?

Thanks,

Steve

Is this the same as the 'skipping' you get when reversing slowly on full lock? They all seem to do that, which is due to the tyre width. The outside edge having to travel further than the inside causes the tyre to skip - usually noticeable on wet or slippery surfaces.

If it isn't that, maybe a wheel bearing or driveshaft joint? Neither are common problems on the front.

Glad someone mentioned this, I was going to post, I have wondered whether mine was rubbing but couldn't see Porsche releasing a car on standard suspension that rubbed.

Thanks all,

I am getting those exact sympoms over loose ground so assuming no other issues i will leave as is.

Thanks Richard. Just about to post exact same problem. Is there a remedy/cure, apart from not using full lock?

Oh, happy and prosperous new year to everyone.

Big fat tyres + Full Lock == Tyres skipping.

Cure. Fit narrower tyres...

(No, didn't think you'd want to do that...!)
