As a second car and occasional track car, what`s everyones views on this 964 ?

It was up for sale a while ago and fell off the end of pistonheads but is now back on.

I know it has an aftermarket front bumper, but generally it looks pretty good to me.

and this one, although quite pricey for a private sale looks really nice.

I thought you already had a 964 Tony or am I getting confused?

I remember seeing the first one advertised before and thinking why is it advertised with 'RS mods' when clearly it hasn't got any. [&:] Regardless of that, it still looks a nice car to me with plenty of scope for enhancement.

The second one is too nice for taking on the track. By this I mean, getting a car on track starts making you want to make it better for the track. This one looks such a nice original car it would be a shame to modify it IMO.

I think the front bumper on the first has put alot of buyers off. I did that to me when I was looking. Easy fix though.

The guy selling the second one could have taken better pics too asking that much cash!

Hi Steve, I recently sold it to an English guy in France. Advertised it on Pistonheads, after the usual tyre kickers etc this chap contacted me, we agreed over the phone, sent me a deposit, then he flew over a couple of weeks later and drove it back to Bordeaux [;)]

Was a good intro to Porsche ownership, but what I really want is a 964 (other than red! Sorry appletonn [&:]) which has been slightly modified and has the history to back it all up. These two blue ones caught my eye. I agree, the second one is a bit too nice to track though.

kept the private regoff it though, put it on the `daily driver`[8D] (can`t remember how to "embed" photo`s in a post).

I have just been told about a 1991 C4 Coupe, RHD, with approx 80K miles on it, fitted with a roll cage and bucket seats going for offers in the region of £10 - £12K. It's silver with a mixed black/linen interior. Been unused for some while but just recently refurbished by a well respected restoration company near me in Milton Keynes. I haven't looked at the car myself but the description looks interesting for someone wanting something more track focussed. Being a C4 may not best meet that requirement but it might be a good buy for someone.

Regards

Dave

I too have looked at this one on pistonheads, the seller sent this:

Car hasn't been on the forum as far as I'm aware (I've had the car

Both no good for me :

first one on the register []
Second one 11 owners [:'(]

Could be interested in the one you mentioned Dave, could you pass on some details at all ?

cheers

There was a white C2 on Pistonheads recently that my friend went to look at in Gloustershire that was at a reasonable price. It had a badly slipping clutch though. Seems to have fallen off Pistonheads now.

He was looking for a while for a weekend/track car 964 and there are not a lot of suitable cars out there once you dig into the details. It's difficult to buy at the right price when you start to take into account work on the engine that may be required.

Think I saw it Ian, white C2 @£12,995 I think. White would have been my first choice in colour too.

The blue one (above), seems OK, but I`m just in doubt about the cat c or d thing. I suppose for what it is and what it would be used for (not first car or daily driver)maybe I could live with it.

The 964 section of Pistonheads is usually about 10 pages long, it`s only 5 at the moment so cars seem to fall off the edge a lot sooner.

cheers

That's the one. Other than the clutch it was a nice car according to my friend. It's not marked as sold on Pistonheads so may still be available and he may have taken it off to have the clutch done. I can try and get the seller's details from my friend if you want.

White seems popular at the moment. I am just in the process of completing the sale of my white C2 and it was rather easier to sell than i expected.

Sorry to hear that you're getting rid of the trusty steed [&o]

It's been such a great car. Bought at 70K miles. Nearly 120K on the clock now. Driven the nuts off it. Never broken down. Never let me down. It's going to a good owner and is having a full engine rebuild and suspension refresh by the new owner.
