Scandinavia has so many things going for it, stunning scenery, beautiful roads, very little traffic and the longest road tunnel in the world with magnificent caverns that have to be seen to be believed. Largely untouched by tours because of the difficulties in getting there, we've moved heaven and earth to get PCGB members here and it will be well worth it! Roads such as the Trolstigen (the Norwegian Stelvio), the Snow road, the visually stunning Ash road and the amazing Atlantic road are just the beginning. We'll travel the Laerdal Tunnel, and hit some of the unknown back roads which open up to yet another beautiful waterfall or landmark Fjord. There's a prize for anyone who can spot Slartibartfasts signature. We'll also take you through the unique spiral tunnel and book you onto a party boat as we head to Hans Christian Anderson Country.
As if the great roads and landscapes, friendly people and great hotels weren't enough, we've got another bonus for you. We'll get you into the factory of one of the most exclusive supercars on the planet, the Koenigsegg. We've been there before and because of that we've been granted a behind the scenes tour.

[FONT=verdana,geneva"]So, this is a tour with everything a Porsche driving Petrolhead could want, it may not be cheap but it is a trip of a lifetime and because we've done it before it's something only we can do. You'll get 2 tour support cars with tour managers to guide and take care of you; you'll also have full sat-nav files, the use of one of our powerful walkie talkies, route guidance notes and a full drivers pack. We're also including dinner as well as bed and breakfast at all the hotels we visit. We're restricted on the number of cars we can take on this tour as the ferry company has made a special dispensation for us. 15 cars is the maximum and it's a popular tour so we advise booking early to avoid missing out.[FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=verdana,geneva"]To ensure the enjoyment of all PCGB members the tour managers will guide and chase the group at a pace everyone feels comfortable with, the Walkie talkies as well as encouraging banter are invaluable in providing information on road conditions, any slow moving/oncoming traffic and keeping everyone in touch with each other. The Sat Nav files are a good backup in case you get lost (which is unlikely) and the whole trip is perfect for couples as it is a mix of fun driving, spectacular scenery and relaxing rest stops. You can do this trip on your own as the group will gel together so you will never feel isolated. So if you've never done a road trip before, this is perfect for you, even if you have, you won't have done one quite like this one.[FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=verdana,geneva"]Day 1[FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=verdana,geneva"]Meet at Harwich in Essex on a Thursday afternoon for an evening departure to Denmark. We have reserved outside cabins ( so you get a window "" much nicer than the inside ones!) on board (2 people per cabin) for everyone to get a decent nights sleep. [FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=verdana,geneva"]Day 2 "" 200 miles[FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=verdana,geneva"]Get off the ferry in Denmark and have a relaxing day doing the short trip north to our next ferry which takes two hours and brings us into Kristiansand, Norway.[FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=verdana,geneva"]Day 3 "" 200 miles[FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=verdana,geneva"]The adventures really begin today, traversing mountains and valleys and fjords on the way to our fjordside hotel which is more usually used in winter for skiers! Last year we had an optional twisty route, this year we've made is a feature because it really is that good. It's a road that would make the trip worthwhile all on its own![FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=verdana,geneva"]Day 4 "" 150 Miles[FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=verdana,geneva"]Today we head further north, deeper into the Norwegian countryside on our way to the 24.5km Laerdal tunnel with it's three large caverns allowing some scope for photos and mischief. Once again we stay at a waterside hotel with views across the Aurlandsfjorden and food and drinks in the hotel bar/restaurant.[FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=verdana,geneva"]Day 5 "" 145 miles[FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=verdana,geneva"]Through the Laerdal tunnel (again), or up and over the mountain to the picturesque lookout at Aurlund. We then drive on towards and around the Jostedalsbreen national park before arriving at our next waterside hotel - are you spotting a theme yet?[FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=verdana,geneva"]Day 6 "" 200 Miles[FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=verdana,geneva"]Another fjord-filled day as we continue north for the last time, past Molde and on to the amazing "Atlantic Road" into Kristiansund, before coming back south to settle in for the night in Andalsnes.[FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=verdana,geneva"]Day 7 -220 miles[FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=verdana,geneva"]As soon as we leave Andalsnes it's apparent why we chose this town, because it's at the foot of the world famous Trollstigen (The Troll's Ladder). Don't worry though, we've allowed plenty of time to go up and down more than once in fact we're planning a "˜dawn raid to ensure that there's no traffic to spoil our enjoyment. We then head back into the hills near Nord-Aurdal for our overnight stop[FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=verdana,geneva"]Day 8 "" 130 Miles[FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=verdana,geneva"]Our last day in Norway sees us playing in the hills before cruising for Oslo along some stunning back roads, but before we get on the ferry to Copenhagen we make a stop at Drammen - home of the 1650m Spiralen tunnel. That's right, a six-spiral corkscrew tunnel through volcanic rock, rising 200m through the mountain. A marvel of ingenuity and a lot of fun to drive. We then get onto the Oslo to Copenhagen party boat for the night (again with twin berth outside cabins with windows pre-booked).[FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=verdana,geneva"]Day 9 "" 150 Miles[FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=verdana,geneva"]Arriving in Copenhagen in the morning, we make the short journey into Sweden to visit the Koenigsegg factory, something which is not generally available to the public. This unique facility will take your breath away, as will the cars they build here! After lunch we return to one of the finest hotels in Copenhagen for the evening and dinner at St Gertrudes Closter one of the best restaurants in Copenhagen.[FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=verdana,geneva"]Day 10 "" 185 Miles[FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=verdana,geneva"]Leaving Copenhagen, we take a leisurely route across the beautiful Danish countryside on our way back to Esbjerg and the ferry back to Harwich.[FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=verdana,geneva"]Day 11 [FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=verdana,geneva"]We arrive in Harwich early on the Sunday afternoon, allowing time to get home and unpack and sort through the photos of your most memorable Viking adventure.[FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=verdana,geneva"]How much does it cost?[FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=verdana,geneva"]The price will be £2296 per person based on two people sharing a car and a twin or double room.[FONT=verdana,geneva"]The booking deposit is £500 per person.[FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=verdana,geneva"](A solo driver option is available, sharing a twin room; price £2499, )[FONT=verdana,geneva"]
