Hi Doug

Look at Drivers manual P272 and it tells you its under the battery cover in luggage compartment and at bottom left behind windscreen.

Turning to the spare - There is no spare only bottle of sealant in boot. See page 233 of manual. We replaced ours last year as it was out of date. We bought ours at Porsche centre found it the cheapest around when the discount for being a member of PCGB is applied. From memory I think we paid about £65. If you find yours and it is also out of date Porsche Centre will dispose of it for you as well.

Good luck and enjoy the car. David and Jo (R17 - Southern) Maybe our paths will cross one day and we can compare cars ours is a Targa 997.1

Hi Doug, It sounds like you haven't got a driver's manual! There should be a 'vehicle data bank' card stuck to the inside front cover of your guarantee and maintenance handbook giving you all your vehicles details - VIN, options codes etc. If you haven't got it (as I haven't!!) then your VIN is under the battery compartment cover below the left hand side of the windscreen. It should also be on a label in the drivers door shut and also visible from outside at the base of the passenger side windscreen, starting WPOZZZ. Unfortunately we no longer have spare emergency spare wheels, just the can of sealant and a compressor - not much use unless you only have a relatively minor puncture!
Good luck.
Justin.

Touring experience suggests the supplied can of mousse is of limited use when it comes to repairing a puncture on site.

Many of us carry the Silverline tyre repair kit plus a tube of superglue. Both these seem to overcome many of the tyre damage problems.

The Silverline kit is only about £15 on Ebay and has got tourers out of many a difficulty. Click here for details on using the kit.

Regards,

Clive

Nice tip about the repair kit, one on order from flee bay. A question about the glue supplied by Porsche, will it still be effected when it's out of date? The OPC charged the previous owner of my car a couple of times for replacements but I smell a money making insentive. Looks good in the service book though.

It's a waste of time, awful to use and to remove once used - do not ever get it replaced again. Total money making scheme. I'm sure it will probably work for a good while after its sell by date but who knows how long for, don't bother finding out.

So, do you need an in date tube of Porsche gunk to get an extended warranty? I agree it's a total waste of money and space. One of the reasons I keep Porsche Assist going.

Good question. I don't think it's on their checklist and I don't think if you didn't have the gunk they'd insist you had some. My answer would be no.
