Vinyl/Seat repairs?

My Lux seats are half vinyl (well I presume they are vinyl as they aren't leather) and half Porsche logo trim. The seats are in great shape apart from a small hole on the driver's bolster. Can anyone recommend a decent vinyl repair kit for this? There seems to be a lot of them out there but I'd like to get one that does the job properly.

Cheers!

If the seats are otherwise good; then Id advise that you speak to some professional trimmers. It shouldnt be as expensive as you think (some firms take the piss, SBT being one, in my opinion/experience) and so far, Ive not seen one DIY repair thats been anything better than poor and obvious.

Simon

Saw a car today that has had exactly that repair done by Southbound. Not cheap, but it'll last another 100K mile and it was unbelievable. Really undetectable from the original.

Don't forget that you can swap the seat backs to even out the wear. If you can live with a little hole on the inside of the passenger seat it's a free fix. [;)]

You can only do that on series two cars Paul: early cars only have one tilt lever on the seats outer edge... [;)]

Indeed.

Which is why we ask people to PUT DETAILS OF YOUR CAR AND LOCATION IN YOUR SIGNATURE OR PROFILE! [:D][:D][:D][:D]

Hi all. we were down at the National show the weekend showing our wears and the race car (race car stand) we can offer a full retrim service if you are intrested, smart repairs are not always the best, changing a bolster panel for instance will show up, the difference between new and old..
For instance a full leather retrim on a 944 front seats around ÂŁ600 and rear set of seats ÂŁ350, being a club members i will give a 10% discount.

Cheers Dave (Custom car trim)

Thisll tax you Dave and I know its not really fair, but anyway... Are you able to re-trim GRP or composite shell race seats? Leather would be nice, but I realsie how difficult replacing stretchy Nylon with hide would be, so fabric could work too. If so, what sort of price?

Simon we can trim race seats we us to retrim the Jaguar F1 race cars in the olden days (now red bull), they can be done in leather, but i would advise them to be done in alcantara it holds you in the seat, if you were at Blenheim the weekend you would have seen my race car with dash board done in the same stuff.
Can you send me some Pic's seats and we can get back to you with a price in either leather or cloth.

Alcantara used to be far more expensive than hide: fortunately my backside is now sufficiently large enough to positively locate me in most seats...[:D] The seats I have in mind are carbon fibre and theyre currently bare. I dont have a picture as I havent bought them yet: whether I do depends on the cost of trimming, which makes this difficult. If you could give me a ballpark indication of price via PM, for all three coverings (leather alcantara and fabric) then Id be grateful.

hiya dave, i had a water leak ,as a result the underneath of the back seat[drivers side]was quite wet, i dried it out, but now looks very untidy and could do with new foam etc, is this a job you would undertake? and if so, could i sent backseat through the post or would i be better off going to someone in my area{essex/east london}, apart from said problem, back seats are in good shape, thanks dave regards jason p

Jason, what interior do you have? (cloth, half leather, full leather) do you whant it retrimed with a new cover or your old one putting back on? i say this becouse all of the rear cushions are glued in to give the bucket shape i do have some spare foams, from previous cars i have had. You could send in the post i dont have a problem with that. p.s any pic's would help.

Theyre either Cobra or Corbeau carbon fibre FIA seats Dave, but I cant remember which... They come from the carbon fibre manufacturers.

I have fancied an alcantara dash for a long time, not really necessary until mine cracks though. Have you any pics of a standard dash in alcantara?
