The following is the text of an e-mail sent out to r2 members about the visit this coming Saturday, which you may have seen in the April PP.
If anyone from r1 would like to join us, either at the APC and/or for Lunch, they'd be very welcome.
Ladies and Gentlemen Just a wee reminder of our visit to The Aberdeen Porsche Centre on 2nd April. Scott Byers and I have decided to make it a bit of a "classic" day, and Scott will be showing us around his new service bays, the ones he plans to use in his "Heritage" initiative. He'll also be explaining what the "Heritage" programme involves. Parking for all earlier cars will be in front of the main showroom and we are hoping to have a wide selection of earlier cars for a photo opportunity. So, any air-cooled cars (356s, 911s, 912s, 914s for example), 924s, 944s, 968s and 928s will have priority parking! If you would like to have your car inspected by one of Scott's technicians (recommended) give Scott a call on 01224 877778 and make an appointment. It's always interesting to have a very knowledgeable independent person give you an objective opinion of the state of your car. If you don't have an earlier appointment plan to arrive around 10, for coffee and rowies. We'll be heading off about noon to the Ramsey Arms at Fettercairn for lunch. (Ramsey Arms is in the middle of Fettercairn, in Burnside Road. AB30 1XX) If you are planning to come along to lunch please drop me a one liner no later than the 31st March with numbers so that I can forewarn the hotel of our numbers. There is no problem with parking at the Ramsey Arms. For those of you who requested Region 2 windscreen stickers and have never received them, I apologise. I mislaid them after the GaH weekend, but they have now turned up! (MORAL: never ever tidy up, or more accurately, never ever let someone else tidy up your study!) I will have them with me on 2nd April. With a bit luck we should again have a good turn out, no excuses please, tax the car from 1st April if it's been off the road for winter and give it a good run. That's what it was designed for.................. Main road down, and Cairn o'Mount back, perhaps? With best regards to alljohn c Look forward to seeing youJohn ChesworthRO r2
