VSCC NEW YRS DAY MTG - ADSTOCK

Good morning to you all - trust your seasonal festivities met the expectations ?

In common with previous years, I'd like to recommend a great event that seems to work well in getting the new year off to an interesting start, - the VSCC meeting over at the old Thatched Inn - Adstock.

Adstock
"Largely Victorian village of brick, partly colour-washed, with some older timber-and-thatch cottages. Some very poor new (post Hitler-war) council houses disfigure one street. There is a pleasant Victorian atmosphere in the church..."
[Murray's Buckinghamshire Guide, John Betjeman & John Piper, 1948]

The Vintage Sports Car Club will attend in chariots of all shapes and sizes, for an inpromptu New Yrs Day meeting and upon arrival (anytime from 10:00) you can see some wonderful classic / vintage cars in the surroundings of this most perfect of english villages.

Brunch is served in the pub, whilst outside, you might be tempted by the taste of hot mulled wine, coffee or a mince pie.

People come from all over the country to attend this event and the collection of cars last year was spectacular - despite the rain. Bring warm clothes as the event is outside, and there is plenty of "milling around" to be done.

Having been there for many years, I would suggest that it can be a reasonably "child friendly" event - more so if the weather is not wet. Moreover, on a dry and clear winters day, it is well worth bringing your camera to capture cars against a great setting.

If anyone from this region is interested in attending, may I suggest they use the forum to co-ordinate meeting times / places... ?
