Hi

been on holiday and my alsrms gone into sleep mode , tried most things but cant wake it up.

Is there a definative list of porsche instructions on how to wake her up again?

heres hoping.[:)]

Have you turned the key? Unlock and lock should do it. Failing that you'll have to open it and quickly turn in the ignition.

If the car is not responding to the remote after you switch the ignition on, I think you may have a different problem. You could try putting the remote battery in backwards momentarily to reset the remote.

Yep, tried that and the ignition, is there a porsche article on the subject?

Yes, it is in the handbook.......

As Tony says - turning the key in the ignition will wake up the system.

Are you sure the battery isn't flat?

Thanks Richard, have tried new batteries but not tha,

when your too late with the key in the ignition and the alarm goes off - with the key then in the ignition and pushing the remote button does switch the alarm off, but cant open or close the doors.

also do apreciate the quick response from the last post but wont just dismiss it as simple as that as theres always a reason and always a solution.

cheers

Simple answer is your key needs reprogramming, as these keys are not very good to be honest.
It may seem a quick response but Ive been down this road with a couple of my keys in the past and one that was reprogrammed lost its programming a couple of month's later.
both are no good for the alarm but the RFID chip is still ok for the immobiliser that works of the antenna ring on the ignition.

Ok thanks for the good response - looks like that may be the answer, is this a porsche garage issue or will the local indi be able to accomodate?

any idea on costs and time involved to do it?

Thanks

I know of only one place apart from main dealer that might be able to help but don't get your hopes up. Auto keys

If anyone knows it would be them although i think they can only programme the RFID chip (the little brown capsule thing that lays next too the key blade) not the same as programming the alarm side of the key.
Its worth checking the solder joints of the key as there are not very good.

To be honest I wouldn't worry about it too much they still operate the central locking and start the car and now days if an alarm does go off who pays any attention.
