Have a problem with the car, stuttering under accel, which i think is an ignition prob.
Anyway, thought i would phone the OPC get some prices for a few bits..

Distributor cap £50
Rotor Arm £40

and this is the best bit. Leads £30 each......yes thats EACH. FFS what are they made from unobtanium??

Was considering just changing over each part to see if is could find the prob, but after those prices will pop it into my local inepandant and let him spend a few hours on a diagnostic...

I think since the 997 has arrived Porsche are just taking the utter piss.

As I recall the 944 leads have ALWAYS been stupidly expensive.

I thought about changing mine as a matter of course on the first one I had - until I saw the price!

ORIGINAL: sweetea

Hi,

We have the following in stock for 951

Dis Cap: £29.95
Leads: £99.95 (high performance 8mm silicon - far more substantial than originals).

All prices are inclusive - no delivery charges.

Regards,
Andrew

Cheers Andrew, will keep you in mind after the mechanic has a look. I cant believe the price of the leads. Whats that all about, last itme i bought leads for a car they were about £22 for a set!!!!!

I think it's those long Beru connectors that reach down through the head that push the price up (that and they are for a car with P in the name [&o] )

Cheapest I have seen for the 8v cars is around £79 for OEM from places like Bert and Design911 etc

I bet you can buy universal fitments of the right length and thickness from most motor accessory shops for around £20 but they'd look very odd without the Beru connectors on top

I was about to recomend Promax, but Andrew beat me to it. [:)]
I had the same problem and changed the dis cap, rotar, sparks and soon will be buying the upgraded HT leads from Promax. And then need wheel alignment sort out banging noise when i start up the engine, oh stop, the list goes on and on.[&o]

I had a faulty cap on my old lux (IIRC they are 600ohm one wasnt) and obtained a replacement cap for £8. IIRC Bert and euro car parts were the cheapest for a complete set. of stanard leads (£59 or£74 for 16v)
