As part of their Europe-wide campaign, Porsche Cars will be bringing a 918 Spyder (no, that's not a misprint) for you to see at Cornbury House next Wednesday (29th) afternoon at 16:00. This will be a one off opportunity which is being filmed by Porsche, so if you're interested in seeing this amazing car in the flesh please post a reply with your name(s) without delay. And, if it helps make your mind up, biscuits and tea are being laid on too. Sounds worth taking a sickie for doesn't it?

Alan,

As I have arachnaphobia can you reasure me and I will come along and have a look ....at a safe distance.

Alan,

Futile previous post as I realise that I am collecting a car on wednesday afternoon, Bugger. See what happens when us OAP's do not have sleep in the afternoon and that Instant Chocolate provided by my dealer, da JB, is messing with my head.

Regards,

Kirk

We saw a 918 at Malton on Sunday on the 3-2 and R21 WOTY but wouldnt mind seeing another especially if it was actually moving, so please put Robin and Jo down for the meeting Wednesday afternoon.

Really good to see so many of you will be coming to see the 918 on Wednesday. All you need to do is make a post on this thread and you're automatically on the list. This is to let the guys in Cornbury House know numbers.

UPDATE:
We've just received the following update from Cornbury House re the 918 this afternoon....

"....have just had a call from Emma to say that the Spyder is struggling to keep to the timing schedule.

It is filming in the Brecon Beacons this morning, and has pushed the time of arrival to Tewkesbury back an hour so hopefully arriving there at 1.30pm now.

They are going to ring us here to give us an ETA when they leave but it may be nearer 4.30 "" 5.00pm if you want to let the people coming know this."

just reading the thread!! I had replied via email so hopefully I am down.
Also noted later arrival and it seems the sun might stay out!

Best
Nick

If you've put your name down, you are Nick. Looks like it could be a roof-down run up to CH for us Boxster drivers [:)]. See you up there later.

Hi

What with the people signing the 918 Spyder ?

Are the names being kept on the car for the future ?

Yours sincerely Kevin.

Ps I was lucky to see same car in Windsor but was not
able to attend Club Office for showing of 918 Spyder there
but hope all that attended enjoyed seeing this rare Porsche Motor Car.
Hopefully Porsche will bring same white 918 to Althrop House in August.

Sorry you couldn't make it to Cornbury House Kevin. Everyone at the various stops on the 10M Tour was invited to sign the 918 Spyder. We understand the car had been 'wrapped' so presumably it can be removed at some point in the future if needed. Perhaps it will be kept by the company and become one of their museum exhibits. We're not aware of any plans to show the car at Althorp but it would be a big draw if it was. It would be good if we could get some input from Club HQ on these points.

Alan & Fiona.

Hi Alan

Hopefully Porsche will maybe do a Limited Edition Die Cast model
of the White Signed 918 Spyder like they did for the one off Facebook
car a few years back.

As far as I know the Facebook Model can still be brought from USA
dealerships over UK Dealerships as its a nice model if your a collector
of rare models and its Limited to only 991 visions worldwide.

Enclosed is a picture for reference Yours Kevin.
