Well I've been saying for a while that I was going to have a 911 before I die, and having nearly done that in July on the bike (or rather off it), it's time to scratch the itch. It might be safer too..... Does anyone have a manual 996 turbo for sale? Prefer not to take on intergalactic miles but if the service record and general condition are OK, I might.

Hi Richard

I know this car well, its in vgc well maintained and looked after by Northways last few years so in A1 condition with good service records....... You just need to get past the natural leather with carbon pack.

Thanks, Gordon. I had seen this one but was not keen on the colour combo and miles. However it's very helpful to have a second opinion on the servicing side. I shall reconsider! Presumably a Club member?

If its the right spec for you i wouldn't worry about the mileage
A well maintained car will happily go much further , i know of one with 450k miles on original engine !

Take your time there are plenty to choose from . Once you find the right one you will
Never look back :)

Agree, buy on condition, I have a 996 turbo - bought from pct, immaculate and excellent service history but with 80k, albeit mine is a 2001. Coming up to 14 yrs old it is only ~5k per year. I have a Tiptronic s because I am lazy lol - having had 4 previous 911's and a couple of boxsters I was comfortable with going tip box this time, but that is personal preference.

Running costs are pretty good too as a 3rd car, I am paying about £350 insurance for 5k miles per year (garaged, 37 years old, Cheshire based, no convictions but one accident last year when I managed to cave the whole side of my previous 911 - which cost about £7k to fix, but that's another story[] ).

Just manged to get my first 996 Turbo manual coupe, 54k fsh (mix opc& indy)its a 2000 (2001 my)plate so low car tax as well. its a 4 owner car .Bought the car from a porsche specialist early August. I did not have the confidence to buy private. Plus only had a limited budget to dip my toe in the water.

I am glad i bought when i did as since then there has been so little available at sub 30k , manual .

I am well impressed with the car , so much so that i am now keeping my eyes peeled for a black one hopefully with carbon brakes, x50 options. The Porsche bug has bitten me hard and i am now willing to spend more of my hard earned.

Or i could keep the one i have got and just uprade some of the parts i want.

Not sure what to do.

FWIW , i am very pleased I went with ceramics and x50 !
It would not be cost effective to add them . Many other upgrades available but if you
Spend a lot it won't be added to the value of the car . Best drive for a while to see what you
Really want . A suspension upgrade is also very tempting to add . Will prob get kW or pss10
Next year .
