Wanted Aluminium Bonnet

Austin,
You're looking for 964RS magnesium wheels and an aluminium bonnet. I'd guess you're either a) building an RS out of a C2, or b) have bought an RS which needs a little tlc?
Come on, share it with us... [;)]

There was one for sale in France last year but I think someone from here bought it. You are looking for something akin to the holy grail unless you can find a rear ended RS somewhere. Failing that, it's a big cheque book and a word with a specialist manufacturer.

Are they no longer available to buy from Porsche or is it that they are prohibitaly expensive?

Pretty sure you can still buy them new from Porsche, £1400 + VAT if I remember rightly?

Cheers,
Bryn.

Thanks guys, will see if the dealers have any and at what price

the one in switzerland is gone!

May still be for sale - I gave back word as it has a 5mm indentation near badge - plus logistics of getting it from Switzerland + stripping off blue paint....

Now bought a new one at great expense.

I know of one at £800 but it has been stripped and has holes in it and really is beyond economical repair. It will never be concours.

And the PCGB discount is ?

It may be worth shopping around.

P.S. If you can get the Swiss one packed properly, I can help you to get it back to the UK. Just bringing in 38CuM at the moment and there's at least .3M headroom on top of all my shipments that I cannot use --- so you have a space 2.5M x .3M x however many linear Metres I may have on the wagon ...

PCGB offered me 10% discount on a bonnet (if they could get one - still waiting for an RS steering wheel centre after 7 months). Dealers should be able to get 20% if you can find a friendly one to broker the deal for you.

I managed to get a bonnet from an independant who had a cancelled order at the 2006 price less VAT.

The bonnet from Switzerland no longer required on my part as too much work required for my purposes. I like things on the car to be original OEM, A1 or new condition.

Bummer about the steering wheel centre --- did Marc have anything ?

I'm sure he has a secret stash of bits ?

or ?

Thanks for the offer Chris, but for the additional £700 its probably worth getting a new one rather than a blue one thats needs stripping & repainting.
Will shop around, PCGB discount is 10% on top. Will try Jasmine & Design 911 also

He had one but sold it - after I asked them. Hmmm. I'll get a centre eventually.

Martin
