Wanted Exhaust for a 2008 Cayman

Not sure if it helps but I have a complete 2009 3.4S Gen 2 exhaust 40K miles, just replaced it with a Milltek. Let me know if its of interest.

Hi Mike

Thanks for the reply, I believe that exhaust won't fit though they look the same but my gen 1 has catalytic coverters in the rear silencer as well the manifold while the gen 2 dropped the silencer ones.

If anyone out there can confirm if the gen2 fits I would be interested.

Regards

Pete

Peter,

I was also under the impression that they were different but looking at the PET for both cars the exploded diagrams appear to be almost identical, with a single cat adjacent to the manifold and lambda sensors pre and post-cat, although there may well be a cat incorporated in the 987.1 silencer.

However, the manifold and silencer part numbers are different for the two series so I doubt that the 987.2 system will be suitable for your car.

If you are just after a standard exhaust then try eBay. Lots of people fit stainless steel sports exhausts and sell the originals.

I got a complete 2010 exhaust (not manifold) with chrome tailpipe for ÂŁ40 that was in great condition.

By the way, you are correct there are catalytic converters in the 987.1, but not in 987.2.

Yeah I've found loads on ebay for gen 2, but not many good ones for Gen 1, I'll keep looking but I think the gen 2 would fit and probably would still pass mot etc even though it has less catalytic converters as it would be the same as a sports exhaust, but I don't want to chance it. I'll hang on for a gen1.

Thanks for your help guys, and if anyone wants to sell one, let me knowđź‘Ť
