Hi,

Looking for 2wd GTS, PDK, low mileage, in black or meteor grey. I am looking at Autotrader and Pistonheads, but I was wondering if any members are looking to sell theirs?

Cheers, Alex

Hi Alex
I have that spec but won't be looking to sell soon as the GTS ticks all the boxes for me,however I assume you are aware of the debate between centre lock and the Porsche dictate on component replacement and 5 stud wheels on this model, which is something that may or may not be an issue dependant on how many track miles you intend to do.
You also have the option of full leather or leatheralcantara and steering wheel buttons or paddles with PDK.latter much better in my opinion
Good luck with search.

Hi Alex

We have that spec but in aqua blue. Pm me if you're interested.

Mark.

Have a GTS with PDK, Meteor Grey, 5k miles.................... BUT I'm loving it!!!!!!! Oh and it's 4WD. Sorry couldn't resist!! :)

Not that I'm able to love it properly as I've been in a cast for the past month!!!! Two weeks and counting hopefully before I get my hands on her again (car that is).

Good luck finding one!

Thanks guys , from what I hear everyone loves these GTSs, so it's the first time I've decided on a car without driving one. (996 , 993 , Cayman II previously) I won't be doing track driving so I'm ok on the wheels I think.

Off to test drive one tomorrow for the first time , very excited. :)

You've certainly got the weather for it and you definately won't be disappointed.

Will be interested to get your feedback afterwards, enjoy the drive.

I know Tony, it's a sad state of affairs at the moment [:)] Cast off this Friday all being well and then I can start to lessen the deficit! Freedom beckons! I plan on getting it out the garage and going for a damn good thrashing! - I hope the weather stays kind for me...

Alex - come on share the thoughts from your drive - Did you.........? [:)]

Yes, I did :) Deposit down.

If you were interested in my thoughts after coming from a Cayman, firstly how sexy does a 911 look from rear 3/4. I think the Cayman is a really nice looking machine but the 911 has that certain something. This one is meteor grey, with black wheels (not centrelocks) and it looks both classy and quite menacing actually, which is how a 911 should look for me.

On the drive, the first thing I noticed again was the rear weight obviously around the corners, after the Cayman's perfect mid engine balance. Strangely though, I actually quite enjoy it, it makes it slightly trickier on the way into the corner, but when firing it out again almost feels stuck to the road with the rear traction, no other car I've driven has that sensation. Rewarding when you get it right.

The extra speed was nice of course, nice torque at the bottom end which makes it feel nice and twitchy at low revs. I liked the noise particularly towards the red line, quite a bassy bark, certainly an improvement over the previous 997 Carrera's I've driven without sports exhaust. Also the alacantra was really nice on the wheel and certainly more grippy, and definately make the car nicer to steer for me.

The biggest thing I noticed and was not expecting and was very impressive , was the suspension and the PASM. My Cayman had no PASM and 19" and was always a touch on the hard side, although not really too bad. The GTS though is very smooth on normal setting, but even with PASM enabled felt softer than the Cayman, but still seemed nice direct steering, how on earth have Porsche achieved that?! With the B Roads I drive on around Norfolk, that will certainly be well appreciated.

I didn't drive the car very long unfortunately, it was about 15 mins, but it seemed long enough to get the feel of it, and it was great. I've thoroughly enjoyed all 3 of my previous Porsche's and I'm sure I'll really enjoy this one, roll on pickup hopefully next Saturday :)

Alex
Congratulations on making the decision-it's a great car , and I measure that by every time I get where I'm going I just want to get back in a drive a little further[;)]
Make sure to post some pictures
Tony

Congratulations Alex, you've made a great choice (and colour) but then I'm bias. I can tell you that meteor grey looks lovely in the sunshine also! Sleepless nights ahead I'm sure before pickup.

As Tony says, pictures are mandatory! :)

Keep us all posted.

Cheers

Picked her up Saturday :)
