Wanted: S2 front struts

Chaps,

I need a set of S2 front struts. I think the same strut was fitted to late turbo's and 968's as well. They are to do the Bilstein strut conversion, and I'm more than happy to pay the going rate for a pair, plus postage (or to come and collect them). As I will be cutting them up then they can be as worn-out as you like.

(I purchased a set on eBay a month ago, but it sounds like the courier as lost - or possibly destroyed - them, which is VERY annoying!)

If you have a set which is lying around then please drop me a PM - thanks.

Oli.

Drat - now you tell me! Thanks anyway!

If anyone else knows of a set that are available then please do let me know.

Hi Oli

I was always under the impression that the S2 used the same structs as the early turbo's? ..I stand to be corrected if I have this wrong...

Pete,
I understand that the S2 shares front struts and springs with one of the turbo's but don't know which one. I understand that the springs are wound into a tighter coil (radius is smaller) to allow for the width of the front wheels so it's logical that it will share with whichever turbo has the same size wheels.

Which I think is the 250bhp one, but I'm not entirely sure about that.

Whatever is standard for an S2. Google tells me this is 205/55R16, which sounds about right.

The front rim is narrower than the rear on the S2, although I can't remember the dimension. (To be honest, most of the various discussions on here about wheel sizes and offsets go over my head.)

That was 7 years ago smiffy, not 10!

You ask a good question though. I converted the set you sent me to work with Koni's and sent the old ones (that I had removed from the car) on to someone else. I can't remember who, but can remember talking about it with you at the time. If I could track those down then they'd be ideal ...

Gosh, time flies slower than I thought [;)]

Yeah I can't remember who had yours either but he was supposed to forward his back to me but it never happened. Not to worry though as I will be going KW when my current ones wear out

Any idea when that will be? Some time in the next six months or so and I'll happily have your old ones off you ... [;)]

Hi Oli...sorry for late reply....I've been out all day at an exhibition.... if your car has 205's on the front and 225's on the rear then this would be the same as the early offset turbo's, later cars had 225's front and 245's rear.

Cheers

Pete

Hi Oli

I have a set of late turbo struts (narrow perch), all cut, cleaned and sprayed black. All that is needed are the holes to be drilled (if Bilstein are similar to Koni conversion).
Regards

Ooooh, you could be my New Best Friend Tony! Would you be happy to sell them? PM me if need be ...

Thanks,

Oli.

Yes - and I replied ... I wonder whether the Direct Message system is up the spout.

Why not eMail me directly? I'm at ogp (at) deep-green.co.uk
