Wanted - Servo Valve and Query Help

I have an odd HVAC problem in that the driver side is hot and the passenger cold.

Using the Essential Companion, I investigated and found that the driver servo is stuck fast, but the passenger one opens and closes when the heater setting is moved from cold to hot - odd ?

I would have expected it to have been the other way around.

The driver servo was stuck on full heat, so I removed it and diagnosed that the motor works, but the circuit board has a chunk of the circuit missing - not something I can repair.

I replaced the driver side servo but put the lever on at the mid way point, so hopefully I will not get as hot.

Remains to be seen whether the working servo now warms and cools the passenger - if not, what could cause the servo to work, but no heat to come through ?

So, I need a replacement driver side (right hand drive) servo.

Anyone got a spare, or do Porsche still do them ?

Porsche stopped making them years ago ...so you can't buy a new one ;-( Brian has one on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PORSCHE-964-HEATER-SERVO-/230569717125?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item35af06ad85 There are 2 types driving the flaps so check its correct before buying, but rush as they are like hens teeth to get hold of !! .

Thanks Email sent to Brian as the crank lever on that one is brown plastic whereas mine is metal - like the one on www.porsche964.co.uk where there is the article on how to strip them down which is how I diagnosed the circuit board failure. Ian

Dangerous but I have been thinking. If the driver side valve is fully open and hot air is coming in, then the hot air is being sucked in to the fan by the dashboard heat temperature sensor - therefore the sensor thinks the car is hot and tries to cool it down by setting the servos to cold - the passenger side obeys and I get cold air, but the driver side stays resolutely opn, and so the hot air comes in and the cycle continues - does this theory have merit ? I will be using the car on Wednesday to go to work so will report back on how the repositioning of the driver side valve to the mid way point has worked - or not ! Ian

By manually adjusting the crank on the drivers side it is now cooler, and the passenger side does make heat, so I still need a replacement servo or circuit board for the drivers side. Ian
