Wanting to buy a 987 hardtop

I looked into this a few years ago for a hard top for my 2009 Gen 2 987.

I did not get far but did find two for sale for the 987.1, first generation.

You need a fitting kit and those parts are hard to find and generally seem to stay on the car and not removed with the top.

I came to the conclusion that there are no tops for the 987.2.

Might be a good idea to ask about parts required to fit it at an OPC?

Thanks for the reply . I have a 987.1. I did a bit of digging and the fitting kit is available though massively overpriced. this tends to be the best time of year to buy one, as a new owner can buy a car with one & then struggle to find space to store it .

Hello,

I know you posted this some time ago, but I thought it is worth a response in case you are still looking. I may be about to purchase a 987 gen2 Boxster in Meteor Grey which has a hard top.

I don't have storage space for the hard top so may sell it.

It is like new, and wondered if this is of interest?

Regards

I'm based in Watford but the car and hard top is in Portsmouth. Yes it is Meteor Grey. It's as new condition.

Ok - I would need to do a colour change on it but at least it is sound . How much are you after ?

its as new, complete with locks etc, and think £850 is a fair price.
Ok - I will need to look into costs of colour change and logistics for the distance etc

When my daughter bought a hard top for her MX5 MkII we bought the special fixing bolts needed (v expensive) and went to collect the top, West Midlands to deep deep south Wales. Owner helped us fit the top, dead easy way to get it!

Obviously, a good way to see it, make sure it is right, and to get it home damage-free.

Just a thought.

Completely agree . I have bought hardtop for mx5 & Z4 & SL :- always need to fit it to check all is well
