WARNING LIGHT (take 2)

Hello again, still got the battery warning light problem, the light stays on when the car is running, i have changed the voltage regulator but no change, if i disconnect the battery when running to see if it's the alternator the car does not cut out, the guy i bought it off about six months ago said it had a new alternator. If anyone has any ideas that would be great, i was wondering if it is an electrical gremlin.
many thanks
Michael

Put a meter across the battery posts when the car is running, you should be seeing about 14 volts. Report back [;)]

Well there are so many places, Maplin, probably Hlfords even , Ebay, any auto electrical strore . Don't pay a fortune for one , I'll have a quick look on Ebay and see what's available if you hang around.

ok, cheers mate, i live near a fast fit, should they be able to give me a battery reading??

Mine cost me a fiver and has been perfectly ok for a 911.

Personally I wouldn't go near Fast Fit with a Dinky toy let alone a 911, if you can't use a meter drive your car to an auto electrician but NOT F***** Fast Fit!!! []

think i will buy one lunchtime and let you know 2moro, you had problems with fastfit then?

Good man, never been to Fast Fit, I know peole who have though! For me they are synonimous with fast food joints like KFC and Macdonalds, I wouldn't ever eat their crap, there are few things that I'm really super picky about but who touches my 911 is one of them and the other is music. Good luck with the meter at least this way you get to know for yourself whether the alternator is suspect or not.
