WARNING LIGHT (take 3)

Hey Bones, put a volt meter on the battery and it is putting out 14 volts, when i rev the car its putting out about 16 volts, any ideas mate

Assuming the reading is correct that is way too much and will cook the battery, this points to a faulty voltage regulator. Some models of alternator have internal voltage regulators, an easy fix once the alternator is out of the car and some have external voltage regulators, like mine which is cool because you don't have to remove the alternator. Before buying a voltage regulator go to an auto-electrician and get them to double check the reading, then go from there.
 
I fitted a voltage regulator the other week when the problem first started, it is one of those separate regulators, i will have a good poke around 2moro if the weathers fine other than that i think i will need to take it in somewhere, thanks for your help mate, look to get some pictures on their soon
