Warning Light

Got a warning light up this afternoon its in the middle of the speedo at the top big red exclamation mark, and lower down a red arrow pointing downwards and some german wording, looks like a brake symbol underneath it. I know I'm going to change the rears out tomorrow but just wondered if anyone new what this was, is it just the pad warning light for the rears ??

Mike

Sounds the same as mine, which is currently lit up saying "brake pads", as one of the warning wires has worn through.

From memory, the German for brake pads is something like "bremsbacker" ... is that what it says?

John there are two lights one arrow pointing up which has come on since I removed the sensors from the rear pads, but the one I'm trying to figure is underneath it with an arrow pointing down something like handerBrem........, looks like it might be something to do with the handbrake ?

Mike

Mike, 99% sure it's the handbrake. With my handbrake on, I get a downward pointing arrow with 'Park Brake' underneath (between temp and fuel gauges).

Thanks guys, not had chance to look yet. Can't be anything serious as I stripped and rebuilt the shoes etc and all is A1 back there. So as per John I suspect a dodgy connection/switch.
