warning light

If you find it coming on each time you start and there are no other warning lights then you would have to suspect that one of the other warning lights isn't working. Having the car plugged into a diagnostic computer will tell you what is causing the light to trigger.
Some owners have been known to remove the bulbs from warning lights to hide a problem before selling. If this has been done the exclamation light is the only warning you get. From reading your posts you seem to have had the car for a while so this would seem unlikely. Again the diagnostic computer will tell all.
Ian.
PS Are you sure you weren't just low on fuel?

While i was taking a load of old cardboard to the tip today, pushed into the passenger seat space, it must have been pressing on the airbag cover. As soon as i drove away the airbag warning light has been on all the time. I read the earlier post relating to the light staying on for a few minutes but this is staying on constantly. Any suggestions? Do you think it has just knocked the cover and the sensor needs resetting or is someone about to get a facefull of airbag?
Thanks in advance.

You may find the box pressing on the passenger airbag cover was just coincidental.
Finally, do you seriously use your 993 to take rubbish to the tip?

It's going into JZ to get done. They also suggested it was a coincidence. So hopefully all sorted soon.
As for taking the car to the tip... any chance i can get out in it, even if it is to the tip []
I need to make it look like it really is the practical familly car I tell everyone about!

Also, how long (in miles) do disks and pads tend to last? Current ones have about been on for about 20K miles (they were all replaced together)
I'm not sure about disks, but pads are very dependent on your driving! But, even if you are quite gentle I'd think 20K is already getting fairly lucky.
