WARNING MYTYRES

I ordered 4 tyres from my tyres last week for £576.

They processed the order and sent out an email confirmation and took the cash.

I heard nothing further.

Today I chased them and they said they won't send the tyres until I send to Germany my drivers licence and utility bill.

I am annoyed that this is not made clear pre-purchase, god knows when they would have actually informed me and no way would I risk sending those documents to them given the fraud risk!!

Thought for anyone about to deal with them worth knowing. For me I'll transfer business to Camskills.

Wondering why they want license & utility bill ? is this to do with vat? purchased some outer rims from Germany a few weeks ago and they required company info before processing order, perhaps you should contact herr Schmitz he should be able to help with this problem?

Odd, I bought 4 tyres from them last week which arrived in a couple of days, no hassle at all, and I was very pleased with the outcome.

Apparently a new security idea!

Mytyres say they might rethink their position

their current position is untenable for UK customers

all a bit of a shame really though camskill will be pleased!

I suspect with the ever increasing credit card fraud arising from the UK, and the possibility that they may have recently experienced
a fraudulent purchase from the UK, they are now requesting identity proof prior to purchase ? cant think of any other explanation.[]

They may even be trying to make sure they are selling to a bona fide retail customer, and not to another chain who are buying up stock in short supply to re-sell at a higher price.

I think you are right; the concern is sending those details is risky

spoke to visa and they said under no circumstances should you send such info as it presents a cloning and fraud risk

Just go to BMTR in West Midlands in future. Superb service and cheaper than Camskill on a set of Toyo r888's (by £150). Arrived on time, exactly as promised. Friendly to deal with etc.
No affiliation - just very pleased
