Warning Traiangle & First Aid Kit

I'm thinking of taking my 993C2S to France next year, I don't have a warning triangle or first aid kit, which I guess I will need. Would these have been supplied with the car as standard when new? Any idea where I can get them?

Pretty sure they came with the car - mine has them both.

The first aid kit lives in the front part of the boot, behind the plastic cover held on with 3 speed fastners.

The warning triangle is normally in the pocket in the carpet covering the fuel tank, but sometimes folk put it under the carpet in the spare wheel well.

To drive legally in France do you need anything else beyond the triangle and first aid? I remember something about having to take spare bulbs but not sure how this would work with xenon's...

I'm also doing a trip round France following the rugby [:)] so any hotel recommendations with safe parking would be much appreciated!

You need a spare bulb kit as pse says - I don't think you are expected to take a spare zenon !! Also I think you need a high visibilty vest thingy as well now.

Again, Halfords have a list of what is required for each country you may be visiting - some need hi-vis vests, some not - take a look[;)]. Oh, and a good idea is to take a spare ECU relay - you never know! - get one from OPC.

You will also need the GB badge. Dont forget brakdown cover (hope you dont need it) and also take your insurance documents with you.
You will also have to get the headlight beam converters. Christ by the time you got this lot and the afore mentioned lot loaded you wont have any room for luggage!

These are one thing on the list you won't need! You can adjust your 993 headlamps easily to continental beam setting, with a flick of a switch (almost) - look in your handbook! And No, you don't need the sticker if you've got the GB on y'plates[;)].

I'm travelling to the Nurgurgring next month and forgot about the GB sticker. What's the point of this anyway? Who cares what country you're from? What will they do if I don't stick it on? I don't fancy a great big 'GB' sticker on my paintwork![:'(]

You don't need GB sticker if you have the GB on number plates. If you live near an Aldi they sell a super kit in yellow zip case, inside high vis vest, warning triangle and gloves(for wheel change) can't remember how much but about £8. They allso sell kit of spare bulbs with headlamp convertes for £6 bargin i would say as Halfords chgarge you that for the headlight adjusters alone. They are the same make as well

Don't take your Road Angel! They will take it from you and possibly even worse!

Also watch your speed, they love catching the Brits.

there is a great little hand book for driving abroad available in WH Smiths, Halfords and the like.

only costs a few quid and has some really useful and helpful information. well worth slipping into your glovebox.

What colour and shape is the 1st aid kit? Does it have a Part No.? I saw one for sale the other month but the guy didn't know what model it came from.

Thanks

Graham
