My 997 is about to run out of its approved warranty. Are there any other companies recommended which are less expensive?
Thanks,
If you are not set on renewing your warranty with Porsche (btw some dealers will pay for the 111 inspection and you may not be aware that you can also ditch the Porsche Assist (RAC) coverage to save money) then an option can be found here:

I did have a non Porsche warranty and it had a labour limit on it of £85/hour so wouldn't go to a Porsche dealer for repairs - I've since taken out a Porsche one (for peace of mind), had to use it recently and it was pain free, no issue, recovery and a loan car with no hassle, I'm not sure the non-Porsche warranty co. would have been so elegant to deal with.
It partly depends on the age of the car, are you going to keep it, and if something really big goes, can you cover it if the warranty co. doesn't? That includes Porsche btw.
Good luck.

When it went in to the OPC I never really worried too much, again there were issues like the over-revs etc but I always reminded myself it was an insurance and like all insurances they squirm and wriggle to not pay,. [&:]

There may be a few nice gen 2 997TT when the new one comes along so may be another decision then - 991 2S or gen 2PDK 997TT

Personally, I think that, as is often the case, cheaper is not necessarily the way to go with insurance. I don't have any experience with other warranty schemes but as I have had no disputes over warranty claims to date and everything has been handled quickly and efficiently, I see no reason to switch from Porsche extended warranty. At my PC I know it will be sorted immediately, the job done properly and I will get a Porsche on loan in the meantime. Also, and this may be at odds with the experience of others, I feel they are on my side when it comes to dealing with the claim. After all they are not the insurer so why shouldn't they be?[]
