WARRANTY COSTS

Pal of mine picked up a c4s at the weekend from Sutton Coldfield and was told that the cost of warranty has now been dropped to £1078. Im probably last with this but thought id mention it anyway. Also they are trying to be more competitive with insurance he was told

Not the last, actually the first I'd heard of it...
maybe they have worded it not to include the 111 inspection though...[&:]

Can only be seen as good news though.... in relative terms obviously

That is good news - if you qualify for cover that is, but of academic interest to many if the reports of onerous exclusion clauses (e.g. the application of paint protection film, or suspension adjustment by an indy) are correct.

oh that may be it then gary. i guess a quick call to an OPC wud confirm this. still probably not going to bother. Car now 4.5yrs old and 22k miles so ill take my chances. Also in 2yrs warranty all ive used is one call out to Porsche assist for a flat battery and the recent pulley belt replacements. The other thing i thought may be of interest is a survey on how many people will be pulling out of using the OPC network for servicing in the future. Personally ill leave the warranty and carry on using OPC as firstly ive no reason to complain aboput Colchester OPC and also if we are using the warranty to insure against the big stuff then a low mileage car Porsche seemingly will always help with in the event of a major problem providing you have the car serviced and repaired at an OPC.
Also a satisfaction survey on OPC"s with a 0-10 rating may make for interesting reading as im very impressed with Colchester but i still hear of horror stories with other OPC"S.

Confirmation needed mine is in next monday and so far i am looking at £1395 any discount goes toward the rear tyres which are costing more than a small house.
Any further info on this much appreciated.

...a customer satisfaction survey on OPC"S as my experience have been great but i know of others that have had horror stories. Maybe a 0-10 rating system wud be an idea?

The new forum rules don't allow this any more.[:'(]

a 0-10 rating system or just a satisfaction review?
In simple terms we can't name or shame.. so the survey would be slightly off centre, thus whether its a viable option to do I'm not so sure... [:(]

Tell me more, not going till Monday [:)]

Just had warranty extended at Porsche Aberdeen, 1450 bucks inclusive of 111 point check, would have been 1350 but due to me not owning the car for more than 3 months they add an extra 100, a bit pissed off to tell you the truth as its a money making racket.
Anyhow its done ..

What ?

How the hell does that work? []

I thought that myself.. [&:]
The wording is that if you have not owned the car for three months it cannot be put under the new warranty.. certainly nothing to do with an extra £100!! []
But hey, like you say, you got it covered now.... not that its worth anything being as your Mobridge already puts it outside of the 'official' guidance acceptance on the new warranty.
