Well, the warranty that the non-franchised dealer gave me with my 2000 C4 is just about to expire.
So, I've booked the car in for a service + a "warranty examination" with my local OPC, with a view to getting a Porsche warranty.
However, my currrent warranty company (Car Care Plan) have naturally been in touch to offer me an 12 month extension - they've now joined with Black Horse to offer "Black Horse Motor Warranty".
Now I wouldn't have considered this because my current plan has a £2k ceiling, per claim.
BUT, the new plan has NO upper limit, and there's no limit on the number claims I can make, other than the aggregate total cannot exceed the market value of my car.
PLUS, they're offering me a premium of £549, payable over 10 months @ £54.90 pm (% APR interest!).
AND, there's no examination to be undertaken, so they'll accept the car as it is.
OPC are charging £99+VAT for the inspection, plus the rectification of any issues that they believe compromise the provision of a warranty.
Now, this actually seems like a no-brainer to me...but is it...?
Can anyone think of catches...?
I contacted them on Monday and asked for a copy of their T&C's...I'll scrutinise the smallprint when they arrive.
