Warranty: older cars?

Hi I’ve a 997.2 2011 Turbo. Anyone recommend a servicer provider for a warranty or protection plan? Cheers, Jon

I have the same model and year and haven't kept a warranty on it from when it expired six months ago. I think you are better off finding a good independent and sticking whatever a warranty would cost each month into a savings account. I think you will not lose out on this unless you are very unlucky. Even if you went for a warranty most after market warranty's specialise in finding a loophole to not pay out when you need them.
If you are near Sheffield then speak to Steve at Stattlers, he is superb and ultra trustworthy, unlike OPS's.

If your car is in standard trim you can still get an OPC warranty for the next 2 years. To cover the 'big ticket' items it's the only warranty worth buying. If you don't need that peace of mind the 'warchest' idea already suggested is probably the best idea.

Have a 2010 997 turbo S and have kept porsche warranty since acquiring vehicle. I have had several jobs done under warranty and most recently had the front diff replaced at a cost of £5500 plus fitting. Never had any problems in dealing with my local OPC.

Mine is a 2009, and PO bought it from OPC with Ext Warranty, so i renewed it in May. Since then it failed MOT for emissions, advised it was probably O2 sensors both sides. Got it into local OPC for warranty investigation. Came back 2 weeks later with new Cats, o2 sensors and exhaust manifolds under warranty. Non warranty cost would have been around £6k.

I'm hoping Porsche extend how long older cars can have warranty as i cant renew it after this one.
