Warranty Wise - any good?

Any one had any experience of Warranty Wise?

They keep emailing me and I'm tempted as I'd like the comfort of a warranty for my 2004 996TT.

Thanks

Andrew

Read this month's Used Car Warranty review by Peter Morgan in GT Porsche magazine. Warranty Wise was the only one he rated, other than the OPC one.

Any body got a copy please.

Find it odd though, that someone who inspects cars. Rather than someone who repairs and claims from the insurance companies would be able to compile such a report without contacting a lot of garages!? which hopefully is what he has done.

I have warranty wise for my Porsche and land rover discovery . The paid out recently fr an alternator failure for the landie but only for the parts ie £26o for a £500 bill so the are caveats to warranty processes .these warranty cOmpanies have o make a print so youie the majority don't get it for nothing. I have not claimed on the Porsche yer £1800 3year gold warranty on my 996

I'm not convinced by after market warranties on older cars. They only cover breakages, and most parts seem to wear out or break because they are worn (and are therefore not covered). And even if you do manage to persuade them to pay, they only cover the part itself and it's fitment - not the diagnosis and the incidental work required to do it. Consequently if the broken part is one pound, and one pound to fit, you only get back two pounds, even if it took all day to take the engine out and then put it back in to get at the one pound part in the first place. I paid for a three year, value of the car, gold service warranty wise scheme when I bought my 996, and of the maybe £4000 of repairs and servicing I've completed in the last two years, warranty wise have covered zero. As my car is 11 years old, the attitude is ipso facto all breaks are normal wear and tear (so not covered). But that said, and maybe I am mad, I do take some comfort from the thought of having my warranty!!!

Apologies for my typos iPhone issue plus dyslexia in hindsight I would not have spent £1800 on a three year gold warranty . Warranty wise refused to cover an air on problem for my diso which cost £460 saying it was usual wear and tear nb previous post

I've not heard warranty wise ever fully pay out. They always only seem to pay 50% of the claim with the remainder some kind of wear and tear caveat. Really pisses me off!

I have a 2 year warranty with auto protect and fingers crossed they've paid out on a few small things that needed doing? (3 hail Mary's)

No Rich, they didn't cover the washer jets, they were self funded :) and Tony did a superb job once again. One quarter of the price quoted by opc west London to replace the washer jets. They did however cover the faulty seat belt buckle.
