Warranty

My 05 C2 had it's 4 year service on Friday at Norwich (car has done 24k miles). I was a bit annoyed that when they quoted me the cost of the service they left out the separate cost of the brake fluid change even though it needs doing every 2 years and thus must come up on most services except for those doing fairly high mileage.

Have to say though that the service at the centre was great and they lent me a black C4S with black wheels and the new PDK gearbox which attracted many more onlookers than my arctic silver C2. I found the PDK very thumpy around town in auto mode but very quick (if not a little souless) on the open road.

Service came to just over £800 which is not bad for two years.

Also told that they need to have the car back to deal with a small oil leak under warranty which will necessitate removal of the engine so this has justified the warranty premium for this year. Also they gave me discount for my PCGB membership which more than pays for the annual fee so in all not a bad day!

Glad to hear of what seems a positive outcome from a visit to the OPC.. Whilst a few issues have occurred it does seem that they have looked after your greater interests garyw

i really find all this "oil leak" talk quite disturbing. Is it all made up to generate revenue for the OPC"S or do we have expensive cars that arent built well enough to warrant thier price tags. I dont know of any other make of vehicle where oil leaks are so prominent.

I think its getting to the stage where the phrases of; 'oil leak', 'paranoia' and 'generating work' are all becoming a bit too close for my liking.. but I am a little cynical sometimes [:D] I think all vehicle have slight leaks or misting, it depends on how its interpreted garyw

Gary Didn't you know they are out to get you[:-] Subscribing to the "cock up" theory over the "conspiracy theory" - its probably a mix of genuine work needed and a bit of individual opportunitsm on behalf of a couple of unscrupulous individuals. After all we are the first to complain about build quality if we see any oil leak on our drives - and the fear of a dreaded RMS.

yes mine had the same leak ,engine out and all that under warranty thank goodness.front shocks were changed too. 13500 miles under 2 years old. but still not what you would expect from such an expensive car. maybe thats why its only a 2 year warranty on offer from factory. what other maks of cars come with only two years?
