My 997 is about to run out of its approved warranty. Are there any other companies recommended which are less expensive?

Regards,

ORIGINAL: Julian66 Has anyone fitted a larger profile tyre on a 997 4s GII? I wanted to see if I can fit 235/40/19 to the front and 305/35/19 to the rear? If so, will the dials need recalibrating?

A couple of questions. Firstly, why? Secondly, can you get 305/35/19? I can't see them anywhere and certainly not in a "N" rated tyre. The 235/40/19 is the one fitted to the front of the 991 I believe. If you only changed the fronts the the rake of the car would be changed as the ride height at the front would be higher (it's a fatter tyre) and that would look odd not to mention what it would do to the handling - so a geo set up would be needed. But the ride height of the "standard car" i.e without adjustable shocks, cannot be altered. I don't know where the pick up for the speedo comes from but if you change the rolling circumference then it will affect the speed read out. (the 240 tyre has about a 3.5% greater circumference. They would certainly give a slightly more compliant ride![;)] Calculator here... http://www.club80-90syncro.co.uk/Syncro_website/TechnicalPages/TRC%20calculator.htm Edit - BTW, and nothing to do with the OP question, does anyone else think it odd that wheel diameters are in inches and tyre width in mm?[:D]

So did my turbo Ralph - and presumably so did the OP's car along with all the other wide body 997s and GTS[;)]
