Warrenty Work Next Week

I've had my Boxster 12 months now and covered almost 8'000 miles and still smiling although it's in next week to have the 2100 rpm 'noise' fix and yesterday whilst cleaning the car I noticed on both sides of the car a new problem that I haven't read about here it's a tough one to describe but I'll give it a go.

On both sides of the external hood the front plastic bit looks like it's been chewed up by something, so much so it now has pieces out of it? Also getting water coming into the car but only on the inner side of the windows and when they go up and down they end up damp to the touch....... Anyone else had anything similar?

I have wet inner seals on the 987 roof but only when it is washed - put it down to extra water pressure.

On a side note though I'm having the complete 987's roof replaced due to continual problems with the mechanism coming apart and various rattles. My second car under warranty already!!!

The plastic parts of my roof have bits out of them on the lower edge. This was caused by the technician when the door seals were replaced to cure a leak that was due to the membrane in the door - go figure, as they say! Anyway, based on that, are there any other signs that somebody has maybe had a go at getting in?

No the car lives in the garage at home and is parked in a secure car park at work, it's a bit odd will see what Nottingham Porsche say next week.

Had the call this week and the plastic bits will be replaced under the warrenty which is good news. I'm also having new hood seals fitted under warrenty which will hopefully cure the smears / dampness on the inside of the windows after washing / heavy rain. I'll also get them to fix the front bonnet release fixed as it only works now on the key oddly?

Did it never rain during the 100's of thousands of test miles before the 987 was unleashed onto the public [&o]

Update on this problem - Original replacement part from Germany was cracked. It's taken 2 weeks for the OPC to call (after I chased them) to say the 2nd replacement part is on order and will take 8 weeks to arrive! Lead time seems a little on the long side to me, thankfully it doesn't spoil my enjoyment of the car.......!
