Washer Fluid

Sorry this may sound a silly question but there are two washer bottles, one for normal and one for intense.
What do you put in the intense bottle as the book says special porsche fluid?

Steve,

Porsche do sell an "Intensive Screen Wash" product which is intended to be put in the small reservoir you mention. The pump is operated by a separate rocker switch on the dash and supplies a metered amount of the screen wash to the screen - the screen should then be wash/wiped by the normal column lever switch as usual.

I don't recall meeting anyone who confessed to buying the Porsche product or even using the intensive wash reservoir. Be careful about using neat washer additive in there since many can be detrimental to the paint finish - something the Porsche product professes to avoid.

Regards

Dave

Hi,

I used to use the Intensive Wash on my 3.2 - found it shifted the squashed bugs more effectively than the screen
wash alone

on my 540 (now sold) i used halfords fluid , neat . with no bad effects .
wouldnt suggest this for the porsche though !!!!

when i had my car zymolled , i asked glynn the detailer about what to use to avoid damaging the wax .
cant remember what i now use on the 964 , but will check when i get home .

have heard it mentioned loads of times about neat fluid damaging paint , but noone thinks that it'll take off the wax first , so you should be asking the wax maker ;)

A friend (ok, I really mean me) decided to put a mix of 40% water, 40% halfords winter screen wash and 20% Rainex.

Worked a treat during the winter just gone, but could never be arsed to mix more up.......! Hence can't tell you what the long term effects are.
