Washer jets dont work

My washer jets seem to have given up the ghost. Checked the fuses and the wires, the headlamp washer jets work, so i assume it's the lower washer pump in the resevoir that needs replacing? [8|] Any one changed one of these. My local OPC have them for £21+VAT.

The nozzel under the washer jets are non return valves I believe. sometimes these fail.

If you have already tried to clear the jets with an air line, then to prove its the valve(s), disconnect the feed pipe at the nozzel (you may need to break the little metal hose clamp) then operate the washers, if water comes out of the hose then its the valves, if not it could be the electric pump in the reservoir.

If you take the valves off completely using common sense and blowing thru them you can determine if they are working or not.

I cut all the metal clamps off when trying to resolve this problem and replaced them with tie wraps and have no leaks.

In order to re use the valves, I simply drilled thru the inner plastic piston from the top and side outlets, being careful not to drill thru the outer casing of the nozzels!!

good luck
