Wastegate valve spindle lubricant ??

Had to remove the wastegate in order to replace the cross over link exhaust pipe & gaskets, (had it re-welded but the pipe moved during the process and did not fit !!).
Usual problems with seized bolts & snapped studs. During the process of drilling them out took the opportunity to check the valve sealing faces which were found to be
pitted so required a light clean up & re-lapping.

Question is. does the valve stem require any form of lubricant ? ( yes I appreciate that the valve guide is ceramic & obviously the high temperatures involved ).

Does anyone have any experience of this or is it best just left dry ?

Was thinking perhaps a light dusting of graphite powder ?

Is that likely to be relevant? I'd have thought the spring would be the main influence on how much air leaks in real use.

I've often wondered why these things are DIY fixable though. They seem rather simple. I know that the spring is strong and hard to put back, but sure one can lash up something?

I just used a little bit of oil on the WG valve stem when I (cough cough) converted my stock WG to a dual port and it has been working well for a few K miles since. It doesn't really need any lubrication due to the ceramic guide...
