I am a new owner of a 3.2 Boxster 03 plate. I note that when I lift rear boot cover there is water droplets on the underside of the lid within the confines of the rubber seal around the rad filler/oil dipstick area. Is this caused by condensation as this area warms up with water temperature and it is now cold weather outisde? The dad cap seals OK so is this normal!!

I've had some condensation on the lid above the filler caps ever since I had my 2004 986S. I've replaced the cap and had the OPC check the coolant reservoir for splits or knackered seal several times over the last few years but have always been told that it is fine. Having seen 2 other 986s with the same condition I've concluded this is probably normal for the model.

My car has the same - I queried with the PC and they said it was normal (I take that to be not an optional extra[;)])

used to have this happen in my old 2002 3.2 boxster, i thought it was normal ,does not happen in my 2006 987

Normal on 986 as the shroud comes up against the boot lid, doesn't happen on the 987 as it has a separate cover below the boot lid.
